Have you ever wondered what causes dehydrated skin?

Especially for women, you may have experienced itchy skin, scars from scratching your skin, and trouble for makeup from dry skin.

If you think you were born that way, don’t lose hope because there are reasonable solutions.

It usually gets better by moisturizing your skin using serum, milky lotion, cream, etc.

However, internal care is as critical as external care.

Here’re two types of dehydrated skin from Oriental Medicine’s perspective and remedies for each type.

Type1(Blood Deficiency):

This type is the most common among women. if you see the following symptoms, you are this type:
・dry skin and scalp
・pale face
・cold intolerance
・fatigue
・tired eyes / red eyes
・loose nails
・insomnia
・vertigo
・brain fog
・little amount of menstruation blood

Here’re the main causes of this type:
・Losing blood because of menstruation
・Slow recovery of lost blood in your body
・Thinking too much / Worrying too much
・Over-work
・Staying up late more than often
・Over-eating and over-drinking
・Unhealthy diet (Eating a lot of cold, raw, and sweet food)

If you see yourself in Type1, changing your diet can be the best solution to improve your dehydrated skin.

Consume less cold, raw, and sweet food and eat more of these recommended foods: carrots, beef, chicken, lamb & mutton, black sesame, black beans, seaweed, goji berries, etc.

If you love drinking coffee, it is better off switching to jujube tea or black bean tea.

Avoid over-exercise but walking for 30 mins, doing yoga, stretching can be suitable instead.

Type2(Blood Heat):

A lot of men are this type but also women.

Type2 symptoms are the following:

・Having a slight fever during day time (Morning to noon)
・Irritation
・Flash
・Craving for cold food and beverage
・Yellow urine
・Constipation
・a lot of blood when menstruation

Here’re the main causes of this type:
・A lot of stresses
・Eating a lot of fried, greasy, and spicy food
・Drinking too much alcohol and smoking cigars
・Staying up late more than often
・Working outside
・Sweaty
・Lack of hydration

As a solution, you need to keep your body cool.

Your diet is better off having foods that make your body cool, such as pears, cucumbers, bananas, kiwifruits, yams, etc.

In both types, try additional remedies:
・Avoid eating spicy food
・Avoid taking a shower for a long time
・Moisturizing your skin all the time

Even after you try these remedies and don’t see any good results, you may want to consider trying natural Chinese herbs. If you want to try them, please visit YourKampo and get the effective Chinese herb for your dehydrated skin.
